"An outstanding series"

There's a wonderful review of Bane of the Liche Lord (the final book of the Chronicles of the Nameless Dwarf) by author of Goblins Know Best, Daniel Beazley, on Goodreads today. Here's the review below:

"This is the fifth and final instalment of the Nameless Dwarf series and what an epic end. I don’t want to say too much as I wouldn’t want to spoil it for other prospective readers but this final tale offers so much, as well as wrapping things up nicely.

The evil of the Liche Lord Otto Blightey is plainly visible and he certainly shows his true colours. I cannot remember the last time I felt such a dislike for the villain in a book and I couldn’t wait to see the conclusion of Endless’ struggle against his tormentor. Nil’s also plays his part well and continues to battle with his past as does Ilesa, and it was great to see her return after a brief absence. I really enjoyed the extra titbits of history Prior throws in every now and again and the Dwarf Lord’s axe, Paxy, was great.

An outstanding series Derek, please keep up the good work and I’d love to hear about the next adventure!"

New Shader cover, trilogy update, and Nameless Dwarf comic

I'm hard at work on The Unweaving, book 3 of the first Shader trilogy. The first 9 chapters have been written, with the rest still needing redrafting. I'm aiming to finish by the end of the summer.

Once The Unweaving's been released, I'll be putting the trilogy out in a standalone volume called simply SHADER (First Trilogy: Against The Unweaving). This will incorporate Cadman's Gambit, Best Laid Plans and The Unweaving. It will feature all original cover art, three maps, and some new sketches by Patrick Stacey.

Watch this space for some news on the forthcoming Nameless Dwarf comic. It's in the very early stages at the moment, but as soon as I know more I'll post about it here.

Meanwhile, The Nameless Dwarf has reached as high as number 18 in the Epic Fantasy category on Amazon (number 762 overall in the Kindle store).

For those of you who have yet to start the Shader series, Cadman's Gambit (book 1) is now only $0.99 as an e-book.
